Garmin DC 50 wont Communicate?

I just recently bought a Garmin 320 with a DC 50 collar been used 3 nights. Last night while hunting it stopped tracking my dog. My dog was treed 200 yards away from the last point where the collar had him. If I tell the Garmin to identify the collar it will do that. But will not actually track. Gives no info on the collar battery life, gps, etc.

Any Help would be great before I take this thing back.

Thanks

Try deleting the collar and then adding it back.

Okay, there is a few things here you can do, I have had a few problems with the DC50 since I have had them

1st) Did you try updating your Garmin hand held unit on a pc? The 320's need to be updated to successfully run the DC50

2nd) Did you also try just deleting the collar and then re adding it to the handheld?

I bought this unit brand new with the 50 already assigned to it. I have not updated it however it came from the factory with it and has worked up untill last night. I also deleted the collard and tried to re add it. It identifies the collar but that is about all it does.

.

Ron always mark the truck and then lay a track where you go. You will never have to use the arrow on the compass if you do that. Just look at your map page and go to the track you walked in or or intersect it at the closest point and follow it out. That way if the compass pointer fails you there is a back up.
