 UKC and email addresses

in the course of conversation, the subject of emails and addresses came up. it then sparked a question that I would really like an answer to.

WHY does ukc ask for email addresses on EVERY form you send in, but when there is an issue or problem about that form, they send you a snail mail letter to resolve it???

what's the point of getting the email and then you dont EVER use it, unless I initiate the message?

That's why from now you should just put N/A, regardless if you got an email or not. Save you some writing since there is no purpose it appears......

They can sell the address. Most all the forms you ever fill out with your email address are sold. It is a money maker. Can't fault them if that is in fact what they do, part of living in the world and times we live in.

so why cant the staff use them to contact customers if there are issues with something? you already have it and it would be so much faster and more secure than snail mail esp if its a time sensitive matter.

To clarify, we do not sell your email addresses. We typically use them to inform you of events and closing dates or contact you with certain questions regarding paperwork. There are instances where a signature is required, hence the snail mail.

To provide further clarification, the posting referring to Dog World was indeed part of a partnership venture we had with them at that time, August 2011. This partnership is no longer as the publication was dissolved.
