I had experienced coon dog peralisis. Don't sound to me like that is your problem.

Anytime a dog acts like, I would consider it to be pretty serious and take the dog to the vet and get some blood work done.

Just took mine yesterday for tests. Couldn't get him to stop coughing. First thought it was kennel cough, but after a month and a half, still didn't help. Vet found a questionable spot on the xray constricting his trachea by half. Not sure if it's lungworms or a tumor or brucellosis. Doubt it's blastomycosis, he'd be dead by now. It's always good that if you have a question to go ahead and get them checked.
