I have a serious flea infestation. I mean really bad. When I walk in my back yard fleas just jump on me. I have sprayed some Fire Ant Killer (the really smelly stuff) and that did not even ohase them. I have some comfortis to give my dogs but the fleas are every where. Can someone please advise me on how to get rid of them. Is there anything that will kill the aduklt fleas on contact? I realize that I will have to spray several times in order to kill all of the flea eggs and larve, and will. However, I need something to immediatley kill the adults. I will put out some Seven Dust granules and other powder to help with the eggs and such but would greatly appreaciate any advice.

boric acid powder.kills fleas,larva and eggs.
can get it at familly dollar.
2.50 a bottle here,dust it around like baby powder.

is the best don't try to kill the fleas off before you give them the pill it will kill the fleas on the dog instantly you can use 7 dust it's good to sprinkle on the ground area but i myself use creolene mix it with water and spray the area around your kennel i mix it 50/50 also put red ceader chips in your boxes it will also keep fleas away hope this helps

Premithrin. I think that's how it's spelled. Mix it up and spray on dogs and entire backyard a couple days and give comfortis. I have seen dogs have fleas after comfortis if other dogs or area is not controlled too. It's safe and is easy and fast. It's also in fly spray for horses.

Unless a pill or tablet is scored (a small notch in the middle of the tablet) to break in 1/2 there is no guarantee that the active ingredients of a pill or tablet is distributed evenly across the tablet. And when a tablet is scored across the middle it only guarantees that 1/2 the active ingredient is somewhere in that half.

works for fleas that are on the dog{s} great.{i use them}
but it won't do a thing for fleas around the yard{unless they jump on the dog}

as cheap as the boric acid powder is,and it works.
google "how to kill fleas".
most say use boric acid powder.
i tried it and it worked great.

you can get the tree and shrub product and put in a sprayer attached to your garden hose. I've done this in years past and it works well. just have to be sure to keep dogs off ground until it throughly dries in case they try to eat the grass.

Where do you guys buy your comfortis? I found it on 188petmeds. They want $105.00 for 6 pills. Thats for a dog from 60-120 pounds.

I get the trifexis 60-100 and cut them in half and they work great,22.00 a pill at the vet been usin it for couple yrs and love it

I pay right @ $12 a pill for ours @ vets office .(up to 120lbs)..I know a lady that buys them on-line for about the same amount I ask here where she's ording them from tomorrow.
Also the pytherin for the yard and dog houses works great -bottle last forever mix up in a garden sprayer .

I checked with my vet and they don't handle either pill anymore. She advised me to go on line and look. They only handle and recommend topical fles killers.
