training question, need advice

ok guys, need some help here, what is the best way to getting a dog to tree harder? i have a bluetick dog that is Utchman bred and he is by far the best track dog i have ever owned, when the other dogs are slick treeing he will take the track on and will find the coon, he will locate, and will tree a little bit,he is deadly accurate, but when you get to the tree he will just be milling around and act like hes looking for the track on the ground, he can flat smoke a track and leave the other dogs in the dust but they will be the ones treeing when i get there, he is 3, but i have only had him a short time, was told he hadnt been hunted since he was a year and a half and then it wasnt much,.... any advice or help i would appreciate, he has to many good things about him for me to give up on him..

Tie him back and shoot the coon out to the other dogs and when you leave the tree leave the coon hanging up on a limb

hunt him

Alone, when he trees pet him up good. Tie him close and squall and slap the tree with a leafy switch. If you feel its safe, climbing a tree can really fire up a dog. Always leave coon hanging in tree it came from or take it home.

Sounds like the dog had a buncha coon knocked out with some fight left in them, ie re-runs. Knock coon out dead and under the tree 95% of time
