Thank you! I had a big doe come in and feed 12 yards from me while I was bow hunting Thursday night, but didn't see any bucks. That experience alone has me hooked on bow hunting already.
Mr. Osborne, I totally agree with you! It's rough hunting up through the end of September or so here. Usually very hot, mosquitoes are terrible, and the snakes and gators are crawling. We can't kill does at our dog club until September 15th, so the biggest appeal is the chance of killing velvet bucks. I'm as dedicated as there is out there when it comes to dog hunting especially.
I'll say this...I ran deer dogs Friday and Saturday and aside from some rain, the weather was GREAT. Upper 60's both days. I almost needed a jacket at times. The downside was the mosquitos almost toted me away, and thanks to all the rain a good portion of our club is under water. Made hunting less appealing for sure at times but loved the cool weather.
