Roy Simms

My brother stopped by a neighbors house today to ask for permission to hunt his farm and he said he hunted b and ts at one time. He had several big trophies and had one from the world show.I never caught a year but it had to be back in the 70s or 80s. Do you all remember a man by the name Roy Simms from missouri.

Roy Simms

I'm fairly sure that Roy Simms won the world show in 1976 and I visited him at the B$T sectional at Kirksville in the spring of 77. Roy had the best looking dogs I ever seen. I think he lived at Carroliton MO. To me like a B&T should look, a good wide chest and probably wiehgt 55lbs. I'm not sure how he was bred but look fairly long like a Wagner bred hound.
I sold a dog to Mitchel Voyles (Audie Voyles, Jarvis Umphers and several others were at the hunt.) It was a terrible spring with snow still on the ground and Mitchel and Audie made a oath that N Missouri would never see them again, I think they walk across a plowed field.
