Ear Mites

I got a hound with ear mites, anybody got a good fix for him? I went to the co-op today and got some ear mite medicine, just figured one of y'all would know something a lot better.
Thanks,
Duane

People accuse me of being color blind. The truth is I will hunt red ones, blue ones, black and white ones, yellow ones, black and tan ones, or even brindle ones; Just as long as they are English!

dang that's enough ivomect to treat 200lbs worth of animals . if you are to even think on using ivomect in the ear mix about a 1/4 cc in enough mineral oil to treat both ears . I prefer just using a sulfer based product after cleaning the ear out good and repeat as needed .

EAR MITES

Wash dog & Clean Ears out good then Treat. I Clean (Bleach) Dog house out also or wash bedding.
Ear MITE TREATMENT: (You can mix 1/2 or less of this mixture)
16 oz Bottle Alcohol
4 Tbsp's Boric Acid Powder (Pharmacy)
16 drops Gentian Violet 1% Solution (Pharmacy)
I store in a Pint size widemouth mason jar w/lid.
Shake well before each use.
TREATMENT: 2x's per day for 2 weeks (Use One 3cc Syringe Full w/o needle) 1x per day for 2 weeks
1x per month thereafter.
Re-Treat as needed.

EAR CANKER: 2 oz (4 Tbsp's) Providone-Iodine
14 oz Apple Cider Vinegar
2x's a day until better. Then once a day symptons are gone. Then every other day for a week. (Message Ears Each time)
I've used these two treatments off & on over the years. And used An Ear canker or Ear Mite Solutiion (with Sulfur in it) We have one dog on Ear Med's from Vet along with Prenezone (RX's). I have also taken one and had his ear's flushed out at the Vet's then put on Med's.
