They both had full buckets of water and didnt eat all there food from the night before... Just Makes me MAD !!! I really liked the Bark female. She will never be replaced.. She was one of those kind.

All of them ate the food.. I have like 9 head of dogs here ranging from 2 day- 12 yrs old. Only 2 females where effected... I'm out in the middle of no where and I dont think anyone would stop to poison 2 dogs 200 yrds apart. I have a kennels set up behind house for whelping females and the other females without pups are like 200 yrs away in another part of my yard..

Were there any pesticides or insecticides being sprayed in the area lately?

If a dog is pregnant are they more likely to get a heat stroke?

I know my wife hates the heat when she is pregnant.

Sorry for your loss. I hope you figure out what happened.

just jumping around here but were they out anywhere were they could have gotten into something or bees , snakes ,etc., or somebody who really don't like you ?

I'd keep nosing around some cause it don't seem right . If it boils down to the heat you might need some changes there , some can stand it & some can't .

I am very sorry to hear about your dogs - and I am also very suspicious that 2 YOUNG dogs would both die suddenly, at once.

There IS a possibility that it could be food related; I have read accounts where a bag of food has a small section of food that was contaminated with toxins from mold, but the mold was not obvious enough for someone to notice as they were dishing out the food.

I also read earlier this Spring that the dog food companies were very concerned about mold, particularly on the corn used in the food, as this had been a very wet Spring for some areas of the country. There had been a warning sent out about it in one of the Newsletters that I subscribe to (The Truth About Dog Food by Susan Thixton).

It might be worth your while to have a necropsy done on at least one of the dogs.

I would take a cup full of feed to vet and have them send it to a lab and test for mold and toxins in it. It affects all animals different but really hard on them in there gestation period. sorry for your loss on your females and hope you can get some answers on what happened to them.

Justin
