Henry U.S. Survival AR-7 .22 rifle

Has anyone tried one of these for coon hunting? Are they accurate without a scope? I like the way they come apart. Makes it easy to carry around the woods. Checkout the video.

I have the original survivor ar-7 that was made by Charter Arms..I've used the gun for coon hunting for almost 40 yrs without a scope..It is very accurate, no scope needed.

They are tack drivers come on up and try mine the only problem is getting the lite out in front so you can see thru peep sight and you can't shoot the toes off one in those high sycamore trees but no problem in getting them from up there to down here!!!!!! Lol I like mine but not as much as the hotshot!!!!!

I bought one maybe 12 or 13 years ago. Bought it brand new at a gunstore. It wouldn't eject the bullets. Basically every other bullet jammed in it. I think i payed over $200 for it and that was years ago.

I use a cricket, if you haven't tried one of those, I would recommend one.

I have a cricket with a laser scope on it that I brought from POTOMAC. I saw this Henry and it caught my attention.

If I had the cash I would get this

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/...os-carbine-kit/

The beretta u22 neos with a carbine kit.

What laser scope is that? How do you like that in comparison to a traditional scope?

I wouldn't trade any of them for my CZ 452 scout with the 10 round clip. Small, fits me great and a tack driver for me. Its a perfect gun in a state where semi-auto is not legal.

The Charter Arms version had the problem with jamming, Henry produces a much better quality firearm.

Ron, you made a big mistake when you moved back from the Midwest were people still have rights and the state does not think for them. But hey if you are still hunting Plotts or what ever why even bother with a gun at all unless its for the dog? But what a waste of a .22 bullet?? LOL

Fisher13,

It is the Gamo laser scope. I got it from bass pro shop. My buddy in South Carolina has one which made me buy it. Works great.
