1 would have to say number one for me I gotta couple of friends in my opinion are trying to help the breed but don't get on here and brag there dogs up at and there dogs can flat out reproduce coondogs that win to. (nm, ls, rc, and gr) those are there intials.

Something in the middle , those are both personality extremes that were probably caused by their raising or just how they are geared and are classics cases that therapy would help.

Guys that are too quiet and don't promote exceptional hounds aren't helping the breed much ... or the guys that let others brag for them are expressing false modesty because they still get bragged on , but are sneaky about it so they appear modest .... I would rather someone be a bragger than falsely modest ... but won't hunt with either.


I am really turned off by the fact that 99% of the congrats on here are from guys bragging on any little thing their dogs or a pup out of their dog did ... trip over the real winner to self-promote the fifth placer out of your stud ... it screams " issues".

You can even predict who will participate on any thread ... one guy will get all over someone for breeding a brood gyp ... then advocate the same thing , sight unseen , if it's from their stock .

But , as sad as it all is ... some of us are just geared for it and never give up ... stay married , keep your job , live honest and just keep on fussing over dogs ... don't get much better.

I go with #1. When you have a dog doing what it is suppose to you don't have to brag yourself. Word gets out, whether its good or bad about a dog. Don't like putting my waders on just to read the board. Bahahaha.............

I would have to say both. We need both kinds in the breed. The talkers keep the other breeds busy so the rest of us can get stuff done. The quiet guys sneak up and do good in the hunts and sell some nice pups to all of us poor folk.

I look at it like this I post when my dogs or my friends dogs win . If I didn't post when when a black river dog won no one would hardly know who they was or would they know Dana and Freelin white they are just some back yard breeders who know what a coon dog is . They don't go to the hunts . So I promote there line of dogs . You can call it bragging or what every you want I will still post when they win . If people don't like it don't click on the post to read it . The people that don't like it is most of the time jealous

You are always gonna have both types! You have to give respect to the hound or hounds in either case.

The guy that wins with a nice hound or hounds and blows it up and throws it out there has to have some respect also, but it depends on how he/she does it!

The guy that quietly puts out a nice hound and wins and just lets the dogs do the talking, kinda keeps to himself, That's the one's I look out for!!! Because when the tailgate drops - You know the rest!!!

I'm not going to judge no man for there is only one lawgiver and one judge. Thank God for grace and mercy.

I think if a man makes a thread of his "own dog's" its ok to list a few good traits their dogs produce or acheivements they have obtained, more so, because people that don't know the man's dog's can take into consideration if that is the type trait he or she desires to obtain. Because i know other people that owned
C/S Smokey dogs on here has never said very many nice things or if any about my dogs on other post, and that is fine,, so i can't depend on them to promote my line...

It's really not about us but, The Great- Black and Tan breed.
I don't want anyone to ever think I am great, but merely a friend to whom ever wants one.

the b&t breed is on the bottom of the heep in the big hunts. makin disions on what to hunt or breed to based on if you like someone or the way they promote their dogs is one reason we are on the bottom. there are very very very few people in our breed that wake up in the morning & go to bed at night that eat sleep & live black & tans every day.

how are we supost to make good disions on hounds if we dont know the facts about what someone has to offer !! we wont know if we dont know whats out there. its up to us to make wise choises by knowing whats out there. its up to us to choose if we want to go though the motions or if we want to win !! I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE MAN OR HOW HE PROMOTES HIS DOGS. IF HE'S MAKIN WINNERS WITH THE TRAITS I WANT, I'M GONA GET SOME !!

SOME PEOPLE CALL IT BRAGGING SOME PEOPLE CALL IT STATING FACTS.

instead of worrying about what everybody else is doin we might be better off worrying about ourself & whats on the end of our lead !!

everybody talked & made fun of timmithy ball & his ad's & how he promote's his dogs. all the while he's laughing all the way to the bank !!

somebody else can have the stick now TOOT TOOT !!

I would like to talk about respect Billy George. Why don't you tell this board how you did Loren Simpson. That boy did all he could do within his power to better the breed. He drove that bitch all the way up to Mike Fields and bred her to Dan and you wanted a pup and you got a pup on the cuff because you were having hard times and all that is ok. But to this day you have never paid and never will. But the bad part was the God terrible cussing you gave him over the phone and I listened to it. you have no respect for god or man let alone a dog. Some people call them scum bags you should check yourself you might fit the mold. Looks like I am telling the story. This is the truth and I aprove this message.

Bruce I'm pretty positive you heard a different version of that whole dog deal....I raised that pup for Billy and delivered it to him...Loren told me he wasn't concerned about the money and knew Billy was good for it...Loren never got upset until he figured out that litter wasn't out of Dan!!!
