Wmd's

Syria is using WMDs will force America to question where the Syrians obtained the sarin gas. As intelligence prior to the invasion of Iraq indicated that Saddam’s Iraq had sarin gas and amidst large speculation that such weapons were moved to Syria, the use of sarin gas in Syria might prove to vindicate the Bush Administration’s assertions that WMDs were, in fact, in Iraq.

In January, 2006, former Iraqi general, Georges Sada publicly declared that Saddam’s military transferred large stockpiles of chemical weapons to Syria using civilian aircraft with the passenger seats removed. “There are weapons of mass destruction gone out from Iraq to Syria, and they must be found and returned to safe hands,’ Mr. Sada said. ‘I am confident they were taken over.’”

Sada, Hussein’s number 2 in the Iraqi Air Force, claims that 56 trips by two Iraqi Airways Boeings were used to smuggle the weapons into Syria under the guise of civilian flights. “Saddam realized, this time, the Americans are coming,” Sada said. “They handed over the weapons of mass destruction to the Syrians.”

In March, retired Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney spoke publicly about the likelihood of WMDs in Syria and the high probability that the weapons were moved to Syria immediately prior to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

From Foreign Policy Magazine:
In 1988, during the waning days of Iraq's war with Iran, the United States learned through satellite imagery that Iran was about to gain a major strategic advantage by exploiting a hole in Iraqi defenses. U.S. intelligence officials conveyed the location of the Iranian troops to Iraq, fully aware that Hussein's military would attack with chemical weapons, including sarin, a lethal nerve agent.

The intelligence included imagery and maps about Iranian troop movements, as well as the locations of Iranian logistics facilities and details about Iranian air defenses. The Iraqis used mustard gas and sarin prior to four major offensives in early 1988 that relied on U.S. satellite imagery, maps, and other intelligence. These attacks helped to tilt the war in Iraq's favor and bring Iran to the negotiating table, and they ensured that the Reagan administration's long-standing policy of securing an Iraqi victory would succeed. But they were also the last in a series of chemical strikes stretching back several years that the Reagan administration knew about and didn't disclose.

U.S. officials have long denied acquiescing to Iraqi chemical attacks, insisting that Hussein's government never announced he was going to use the weapons. But retired Air Force Col. Rick Francona, who was a military attaché in Baghdad during the 1988 strikes, paints a different picture.

Seeker, Didn't we have a no fly zone over Iraq leading up to the latest invasion? How would they have pulled off 56 flights when our military was monitoring their skies?

Was very easy. We nor our allies did monitor or stop civilian flights out of Iraq to other countries.

What we need to do is pull all our crap from over there. Let em do whatever they want to each other. Oh and stop sending them all money. Spend that here at home. Then if they start their crap with us personally. Blow em off the map permanently. No rebuilding no nothing. Just give em one warning and that's for anybody who does not consider the US a enemy. You'll have 48 hrs to get the heck outta there

We all know what ultimately happened in Iraq. The weapons of mass destruction did not actually exist, and we spent the next eight years embroiled in war.

“Now, when are we going to learn our lesson? Ever? Or will it be too late,” Glenn asked. “We were stupid enough to buy into this........"

Even Glenn Beck knows not to buy into the WMD scare....

I agree 110% for the love of me I can't understand why the U.S. would give money and train other countrys people only to hate us and fund fund there war against us. Then again maybe someone thinks its only fair other wise they would just have to lead there camels up to the boarders and say spit camel, spit. I was told once no good deed goes unpunished and I have found that to be true for the most part.
