Think the crew was inexperienced in the triple 7. Heard the A/C has over 10000 hours air time in various A/C and the co-pilot was in training on the 777. The chairperson of the NTSB is also inexperienced, if you want a shocker - pull up her bio. She, I think, has a BS in political science, and MS in internatinal studies or something like that - 0 experience in aircraft or aviation safety. Read somewhere she has a commericlal drivers license and qualified on motorcycles. What type aircraft was you on?

i've followed this story pretty closely and am convinced the pilot and his trainer must go to jail and the airline company that put those in charge must go there too. this is inexcuseable.

What needs to happen is that airport needs abandond. there is absolutely no room for error when your landing on a strip of fill in the bay. Every time i have flown in there i was scared to death that we were going into the bay.

the airport site, the slick water and all that doesn't matter because the instruments clearly tell the pilots that they were going too slow by many miles per hour, they could have gone faster than the minimum and been ok. they were also going down at too great of an angle. the instruments clearly told them that too. the pilots were simply over confident and inattentive considering the gravity and magnitute of their responsibility. many airports are located in less than ideal settings. we can't just close these mega airport and build them elsewhere.

and now we learn that the emergency responders ran over a survivor. it looks like a production of the keystone cops. one thing is for sure, a real emergency will tell the tale on our leadership and the effectiveness of our procedures and training. how in the world is it that someone driving a truck with a very good view of the ground and the ground free of brush and obstructions and tall grass can not see a body contrasting with the ground and run over it? it really is unbelieveable.
