few people know about this effort by the federal government to take complete control of education away from parents and local government. the program was and is supported by the bill and balinda gates foundation. the curriculam focuses on teaching facts and minimizes critical thinking. it teaches students how to read a technical manual but not things like winds of war that teach in depth thinking. it's complicated.

About a month ago, Education Week reported that the Department of Education will oversee the design of assessment tests for the Common Core State Standards, confirming suspicions that the initiative is nothing less than a federal curriculum for America’s schools. Common Core’s federal control does not stop with public schools. Students in charter and private schools, as well as homeschoolers, will also have no choice but to learn what Uncle Sam wants to teach them. In essence, there’s no opting out of Common Core.

This whole thing about common Core is actually about money and making a profit off of the backs of our children. It is all about charter schools. Do your own research and you will see the ones that are responsible for the whole movement. People should not be blind because they support a certain party. God bless.

it's the love of money that drives the unGODly, including bill and balinda gates. common core is but one tentacal of a huge diaboblical scheme called, Agenda 21, that will be used to rule the world. i know, to the ignorant, it must sound pretty tin hat. since you're on the net anyway, look it up.

Track driver, at least you get it. Some people can't see the nose in front of their face. Some are too blind to his or her own political affiliation to be able to see the light. Also, money drives all political party's so I guess they are all unGODly.

of course all parties are driven by the love of money. every man sins too. does that mean we can't say that Hitler was more than just a sinner? the democrate/liberals are driven by the love of money as is the republicans but, the republicans were not and are not the party determined to turn this country into a completly socialisty country, ruled by the UN, laughed at by evey bananna republic, where the homos are given special protection and recognition and the government rules by man instead of law.

Ok,I am going to make this as simple as I can. The op asked about common core as if it were some type of Obama plan. The thing that got all of this started was a few years ago when the Republican Party and the tea party decided they would strike out against Obama and anyone associated with him. The elections put more republicans in office. The next thing that happened was to attack all unions. This included teacher unions that protect public education and mostly support the Democratic Party.
Now, if you know anything about public education in the last 20 years you know that teacher unions have fought the Republican Party to stop the push of charter schools. If you do further research you will find that charter schools are just a way for corporations to invest into children's education in order to make money funded with public dollars.
Don't get me wrong. If you can show me that charter schools help then I am all in. The problem is that these schools only take top students in the first place. So really no real teaching has to go on.
In short, the Republican Party has set public educators up to fail with all the new standards, evaluations, etc. and they say it is all in the best interest of the children.
I am not a big advocate of either party. However, with one you know what you are getting and with the other you get total lies covered under the umbrella of morality.
We need to start taking care of each other and not a stupid party.
