Summer hunting

During winter dogs tracked and treed really well. Ever since the weeds and briars has grown out dogs are having hard time finishing the track. Now the woods I hunt are extremely thick, briars are as thick as hair on dogs back and well over head high. Last night the dog was 5 yards in front of me and I couldn't see not one hair on her. Did I mention the woods I hunt are thick!! Is this just part of coon hunting in the dry summer heat?

thickets

Sounds like you been hunting on my hunting lease. Sometimes makes me think about quitting. Don't think I'm smart enough to do that so I keep on going.
