I agree Rory. What a GREAT event it was. The facilities IS Top Notch, The Officers and Directors have done a SUPERIOR job in bringing such a spectacular event to the English Breeders & Fanciers from all across this great nation of ours.
The Thursday night fellowship meal was absolutely superb!! Not only was the food awesome, the facilities was absolutely great, the table settings were most wonderful, and the way they were able to seat over 300 people and get them fed in a timely manner was nothing short of amazing. My hat goes off to all of you, as well as all those folks in the kitchen, and so many more that I failed to mention who were working diligently behind the scene, as this was one of the greatest English days of all time. You ALL can be very proud of what you accomplished this year, and have certainly set the bar high, for those that must plan the next English Days.
Congrats to ALL the English winners this past weekend!! There were some absolutely outstanding English Hounds set down at this years event, and there was also some superior dog work and SPORTSMANSHIP exhibited, that contributed in making this one of the finest events in recent history!!
Though I didn't win any hardware, Holly did a decent job, not embarrassing me too bad throughout the weekend. And in closing, I must say the folks I got to hunt with on both nights, were absolute GREAT Sportsmen, and helped to make for an absolute BLAST, for me this weekend.
So I would also like to thank Mr. Dennis Steinhauser, Mr Taylor, handling Rasputin, the young man handling the Bawls hound that won on Thurs. night, to also include two young men from Alabama, hunting a very nice English Female, and the young man from Arkansas handling the Timber Tiger hound. Sorry to those of you that I cannot remember your name, but you all left a lasting impression with me as to what GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP is supposed to be. I had a great time all weekend long, seeing my old friends and making some new ones.
So last but not least THANK YOU to the United English Breeders and Fanciers, for such a wonder weekend of comradery and superb competition. Who ever said you cannot have both, was sadly mistaken. Have a GREAT Summer, and we will see you all at Autumn Oaks and/or the world finals!!!
