What Line?

I liked a couple posts I think Shane Maxey had about line of loud females and then one about real distinct locates.

What Id like to know is there a line of dogs that track with a DEEP LOUD!! Drawn out bawl mouth. I love to listen to one like that track so is there a line out there that consistantly throws Deep Loud Bawls on track.

My Gpa hunted good coondogs when I was young didnt matter the breed just how good the dog hunted. I remember a great big Black and Tan dog he hunted that was Deep Loud Bawl on track, I dont remember him ever having a locate but was every breath chop on tree. Now he wasnt the fastest and he would tree a oppossum once in a while but I always loved the sound of that dog and I think he is really what got me hooked back when I was young.. I have been drawn to redbones and my male at 2yrs old has a deep loud bawl in him but just uses it to locate. Only throws it everyonce in a while on track.

grntch sandy creek jake

Or any of his brothers and sisters tended to throw big bawl mouths. Still a decent amount of that out there. They will still move a track quick though.

most of the dogs i have hunted with out of the rabble rouser line have loud bawl mouths on track and long drawn out bawl locates when they hit the tree. I really like that type of mouth if they flip it over to a chop on the tree....which everyone I have hunted with does. The Famous Willy Boy dog of Mr. Shabel's also had a very impressive mouth like that and he was Outlaw bred top and bottom. This type of mouth is something I would like to bring into the strain I am hunting as alot of them are chop mouth track and tree.

Are you talking----

those hounds with a good bawl on track, 2 or 3 "long" locates and than roll it into a nice steady chop??? I think I might know of a strain like that----but I have been told over and over that in a "night hunt" you want a chop mouth all the way. Reason is, I've been told, they're harder to tell "if" they move and harder for others to call theirs treed off yours locate?? Can't believe someone would do that, can you??

the best line i heard is Lena's Loud Drum and Timber chopper Bella. I got a from those two and OMG she will bust anybodys eardrums if they are close to her.. Her Bawl is gorgeous and her chop is amazing... i couldnt ask for a better dog

Mr Timer, maybe they forgot why there are so many chop mouth dogs now. It seems like when you breed for speed and drive you lose the pretty mouth. Thanks for reminding us.

The big deep loud bawl is what its all about. I have never comp hunted. I have spectated and it is fast paced felt like I was running all night. Where is the enjoyment of listening to the hounds track? Dont get me wrong if I ever get a hound good enough to win I will title him but if I have to decide between speed or a great big bawl mouth I will take the bawl mouth. Also if a great bawl and locate into a chop looses hunts because others call your dog then so be it.

Richard good point about not forgetting about that. If you look up redbones a trait they are supposed to have is their beautiful voices.

Shane I see you post on here alot about you and your teams breeding plans for competitive hounds its really good to here you talk about breeding that big bawl mouth into that plan.
