MADE ONE YEARS AGO

AND WITH GOOD SUCCESS. THEY BETTER HAVE ALOT OF WHAT YOU WANT AND VERY LITTLE OF WHAT YOU DON'T, CAUSE BOTH COME BUBBLING TO THE TOP AND MAGNIFIED. TERRY WARRESON'S TRAPPER DOG WAS OFF A BROTHER SISTER CROSS. HE WAS AN EXAMPLE OF A GOOD ONE THAT COULD REPRODUCE. <v>

It's been done ... for the most part you won't know it without looking at the papers .... you would have to do it ten times in a row and keep all the pups every time to say for sure what the overall longterm effects were ... folks just do it once and think what they see in the pups they keep are the end-all answer to inbreeding.

Pitbulls are inbred to a serious degree ... those folks would be the ones to ask about it .

thanks for the response

Ive got no plans, I was just curious. I figured someone had tried it, just couldnt find any on the posts I was looking at. I plan on doing a half brother/sister cross at some point. The sister is only a year old, so it will be a little while. Lets hear what others think....>>>Jim

I bred pit bulls for eighteen years i like half brother and sister crosses alot, brother sister crosses tend to produce good reproducers but not always the greatest individuals. I like to take two inbred dogs from unrelated lines and breed them together making what they call hybrid vigor.

i have a cross planned on a female to her sires half brother. its not because they are related. its because the female and her half uncle have the same traits that the old dog has that made them related.
any linebred or inbred cross should only be made to keep select traits. never just to get a certain dogs name on the papers more then once.

Mr. Dean made a full-brother-sister cross with Norhern Blue Hammer II and Nb EchoII. The cross was deliberate, whelped September 25,1966. All turned out to be coondogs! One in particular Warsons Northern blue Trapper was a real coondog that made grand night before 2 years. Trapper was such a strong reproducer that 3 of Mr. Deans hammers come from Trapper females!
