What would you rather see or have in a pup

I tend to want a pup to be curious and be a little puffy around coons when they first are exsposed to them. Also I like one to after being in the woods a few times to venture off and explore on its on and hopefully strike in and try or run a track. My timetable is pretty open on how long I give one to do just this. 3 months and put in where coons are thick is in my opinion the most time I care to spend with one dog trying to get it started alone. You see my training is simple if its in their exspose to game of choice and it will come out. Secondly I dont usually want one to just blow out and start doing it all to quick . Seems like those that start real easy and get red hot tend to be more junky and les accurate. I hunt for treein coons . Not so some crooked handler can get strike points and hope the dog is on a coon or can swap over in time. I woulkd like to have one gradually come to it all . So what if the dogs nearly 2 . But by 2 half it needs to be doing it pretty good or well its probly leavin my yard. With that being said tell me and our fellow cooners how you like or dont like my opinion. Thank you
