i called him boots the wonder cat. i'v had this ol tom cat for about 9 years. i'v started all my pups with boots. i could take a litter of pups 3 & 4 weeks old. put them out in the yard & get in my chair & boots would alway come over & lay down right in the middle of them & get to twitching his tail. puppies would get after his tail & climb on him. then he'd get up & move a couple feet & lay down & do it again. every few days as pups got a little stronger & moved alittle better he'd move alittle farther each time he moved. it was like he realy liked to play with the pups. as pups got 5 & 6 weeks he'd walk away from them & sit down & he'd bat them with his paw but never used his claws. that was what got pups to bark at him.

he was just an ol outside cat that listened better than my dogs. we had a little dog house on the porch for him to stay in. he'd fallow me around the yard like a dog. any way he was just an ol cat that had a job & was very good at it.

Sorry to hear this! If I recall we have seen some pix of this pup trainer....
Sometimes those cats weedle their way into our hearts, even if we're not "cat people"....

Hope another great one wanders in and you find yourself thinking it is JUST like Boots!

Sorry to hear this. We have one at the house named Bo that is about like him he is the pup starter. Funny thing is when they get older none of them mess with him. He eats with the dogs sometimes and plays with the older dogs.
