Just finishing up the last couple bags of Purina dog chow that I bought early last summer when I forsaw the price hike about to happen. The food is still a long way from being outdated and now is full of little black bugs. I may be wrong, but I don't think the bugs found their way into the bags, I think they hatched from the food in the bags, because some fresher bags nearby don't have any in them. Anyone ever noticed this in bags of feed you kept for an extended period?

I see it quite often since I do pest control. Meal moths and rice weevil's are the most common I deal with. Have seen them in everything from dog food to breakfest cereal and its usually when it has been kept for quite a while.

lots of times its bugs that get in or come int the packing for the glue not necessarily the feed. in the case of rice/corn meal/flour, if you put it in a air tight container and or in fridge and not leave in cabinet you wont have them. so same could be true for feed bags.
