Dog rolling around in deer crap

I have a year and 8 month old blue tick female i have hunted her 30+ times she has treed 3 coons on her own. 2 of the times she came in she had rolled around in deer crap it got all in the tracking collars and was pretty bad. well last night she barked once and then started tracking through some pretty wet stuff. well after about a hour of being on this track i had to call her back in she came in soaking wet but she smelled just like deer piss you would buy to hunt with. i don't really know how this happened did the water smell that bad? was she even on a coon? or did she just find some deer piss and roll in it. any help on this topic would be appreciated thanks

p.s She has only ran one deer in her life and she got shocked for it hasn't ran one since.

It's a normal canine behavior for dogs to roll around in things that are smelly and gross. There are countless articles about this behavior on the internet. I have attached a link to one of the shorter ones.
The old timers always to me the dogs did it to mark the "find" as theirs and to mask the scent for hunting? I don't think the fact that yours likes deer crap has anything to do with your dog wanting to run deer.

Thanks for the info looks like its Not as a big deal as I thought it was I like the theory that the dog is trying to get rid of their scent so they want warn what there hunting maybe giving the dog to much credit might just like to smell bad lol
