Sounds like you need to just find something older, that's priced reasonable and will tree you a few coons.

If you don't have time to train a pup, its gonna be hard to keep something nice in shape and tuned up. No sense buying a nice dog and letting it go stale in the kennel.

My recomendation is just find something that will tree a few coon and enjoy your time in the woods with your kids.

Good Luck!

Justin

If you got time to hunt start your own. You will soon find it costs a lot of money to start a young dog. Then maybe you won't think the prices people are asking are so high.

Price of a pup is any where from 400 to 600 hundred bucks hunt it 30 days even if you only spend 10 bucks a night in gas that's 300 bucks now you have 900 hundred invested then add in feed and vet you got 1500 hundred in him and he's just started you still dont have a nice dog its not cheap to raise train a dog
