back in the day I owned several nice ones off of Augie. one that stands out was off of an Augie x grand lake female and sired by NTCH Hamiltons Blue Boy Ten.

I also hunted with some nice Pedro females a few years ago. Chambers had them over around Vinita OK.

Hunted many nights with both Augie and Speed. Dennis King from Talihina, Oklahoma owned them both. Bob Cooley, who was my high school principal at the time, was the one who handled Augie in the hunts for Dennis. Mr. Cooley, as I always called him, lived on campus in a house at Liberty Mounds High School and Augie was tied in the back yard. I saw that dog everyday during my high school years. He was a heck of a track dog, nice tree dog with a good mouth. All of his wins came honestly too. Mr. Cooley was one of the most respected hunters in the State of Oklahoma and president of the Oklahoma Federation of Coonhunters for many, many years. Sadly, Mr. Cooley died of a massive heart attack on a nite hunt cast many years later.

Augie wasn't the prettiest thing probably because of his half white with ticked up face but did possess a nice redtick color. Speed, on the other hand, was a beautiful hound with really loud red coloring and dark ticks. Dennis King was on the right track with his breeding program doubling up on the Junior blood with both Augie and Speed (Speed was a son of Augie).

I have no idea where Dennis is today. Maybe someone could tell us his whereabouts. He would be a wealth of knowledge concerning the old blood.
