Guys I am a die hard coon hunter, but I have come to the point I just don't want to do it any more. I have a really good black tan male and a pretty good female that is coming along. I am just tired and don't want to do it any more. The problem I keep running into is I have had my male since he was a pup and I don't think that I can get rid of him with out getting upset. I don't want him as a pet because he hunts so hard for me. Somebody out there has been through this so please give me imput.

Why don't you see if someone will co-own him that hunts just in case you have a change of heart
Maybe someone young trying to get started!!!

Sounds to me like you and your hounds should lay up till kill season, then try to start fresh. Maybe you could find a regular hunting buddy also. Good luck with your choice, hope you continue to coon hunt either way.

I don't have anyone to hunt with around me much. I have one of my buddies that drives 3 hrs to hunt with me every couple of months. I don't know of anyone that may be looking to buy half owner ship of my male. Worried about trusting people with my dogs. I wish I could find someone reliable though it sure would help me out.

^^^^^ that sounds like good advise to me... iv only been at it a few years and starting out tryin to find a decent dog was killing me...so i did the same thing and kicked back a bit got my mind off it til kill season then went and had fun watchin the young dog i had put the grease in the tree...
