Top redbone crosses less than 2 yrs old...

Who has made what you consider to be a top, well bred redbone cross within the past 2 years or owns a pup from such a cross that is 2 yrs old or younger? What is the name of your pup and what cross is it from? (name and titles of the parents) Who was the breeder? How old is your pup? How would you rate it's ability at it's current age and what are your plans and goals with your pup?
I know there are some really nice pups and young dogs cruising below the radar that have just started to surface.....who should we keep an eye out for? Seems like quite a few high profile crosses have been made over the past couple years....are they working.....are we advancing the breed like we need to? Would appreciate everyone's opinion on what they are seeing .....thanks, Shane

Mandy II x The Coon Buster

These pups were born on 5/1/12 ...Gary MacMillan (Mass) owns a male that could be put in the hunts now...I own a female that has about 1/4 of the woods time but from what I have seen she will make a good one...Loud, get gone and is starting to tree well...Don't hunt in the summer, so soon we will get back at it.... I own 2 other females that have no woods time but will soon be starting them...They have real good mouths and are waiting for a coonhunter looking for a new pup. The 2 that are started are loud and get gone type dogs. Lucas The other cross I have made is stiil in the oven...Mandolin x Goshen Moe....Should be a good one... Due 8/3/13 NT CH Mandy II,OFF OF NT CH MANDOLIN AND GR NT CH BANJO 3..........GR NT CH THE COON BUSTER OFF OF SAMDY CREEK JAKE AND NT CH RIDGE RUNNING CINDY, NT CH MANDOLIN OFF OF DOC AND FIDDLE AND GR NT GOSHEN MOE OFF OF NT CH VAUGHNS BANJO AND MARTINS TREEING TRIXIE... WE WILL SEE HOW IT ALL PANS OUT ...LUCAS

locked and loaded

The locked and Loaded boys had pups out of two GrNitech's ..Pistol and Hope. This was a half brother/sister cross. Both the dogs were out of NiteCh Krasa Sawblade Quick Stuff Bone. Old Bone has a reproducing rate of 17.6 % He was out of Doc / Fiddle. The litter is packed full of supercrosses and I expect them to really turn some heads.

realdeal ramblin red

my jabo pup is a coondog and has been for some time he will be 2 in august.he has won 4 out of 6 casts with 2 3rd places .he needs 1 win to nitech...his mother is a pr dog from hicks rusty sire is larry stringers jabo dams name is grimes little satie...every pup that had a chance ,from this cross has made a dog.. I will turn him lose with any dog and feel confident he will impress.the goals for red are everybodys goal [win world]or at least a top ten finish..if I can afford it I want to give him a chance in a few big hunts [he took 3rd place in the all red hunt in cuba] so he has a good start..oaks in august will probably his next chance to impress.i love to talk about my hound we are proud of him ,so thanks for the post

How about some of these crosses on Rabble Rouser males and females?I know that Rocky, Red, Duece, Rage, Haze, and Moose have sired some litters over the past couple years....what females were they crossed with and what bloodline seems to be producing the best dogs for competition hunters? What about those Pepper dogs out there.....I think there were some litters produced by some of them over the past couple years....
Did the Coffman's make any crosses that show potential?

After talking with some guys at National Days I think folks will be hearing something about the Jeb/Pepper Ann pups in the next year or so. All 3 of them are treeing coon. They'll be 2 years old this fall. Jeb is reproducing at 6.45% right now and that number will atleast double, possibly triple just with what pups are on the ground now.

I don't think that any of the Cartel crosses are cruising below the radar. I am sure that most are probably tired of hearing about them but we just can't help it.

Soon

I think that soon, very soon you are going to see some of these crosses really step up and do some major winning....I truly believe that the redbone breed as a whole has improved over the last 20+ years since I started in 92'....And I don't believe it is just one certain line of dogs, but dogs across the board...It will take a certain individual or individuals with the time and money to make it all happen, but over all, the breed is drawing attention from other breed owners. I hope we can all work together with unbiased appreciation of the breed, so that one day soon we can see a world champion. To all the breeders out there, breed to the best and cull hard.... Maybe you will be the one to produce that world champion. Lucas

GRNTCH BEAR'S CROSSCOUNTRY RED DEUCE

I am pleased with Deuce's reproductive ability. We have crossed him on a few differnt femiles from differnt lines with good results from all of them. Not 100% of his pups are burning down the timber. but there are enough of them turning out to keep us looking forwad with him.
He crossed well with GRNTCH LONG TALL SALLY. Only three pups from that cross. I am getting reports from one, that is Richad Lamber's Bear pup.
NTCH STERKIS'S MIDNIGHT MUSICMAKER. Music is a half sister to deuce. By Rabble X Thomas midnight music. She is a litter mate to Rockey.
That was a very good cross. We have tried to repeat it a couple time with no success. Dan, Ginger, and DJ are all from that first cross. They are just over two now. The Steerkis brothers also have a pair of pups from that cross. I guess they have fallen off the edge of the earth. I can't get in contact with them. I just love it when people DON'T do what they say they will do.
Bob lewis's Dixie female was another good cross. There are three or four of those pup I am hoping will hit the hunts soon, TREEDOGS.
Then there is the Deuce X Tina cross, this cross was made twice. Tina is off Moon and pepper anne. I will call it a good cross, about 50% of those pups turned out satisfactory. As bad as I dislike it most of those pups landed with folks that wont put them in the hunts. I dont under stand that, but thats just the way it turns out.
There are three litters out there that are under one year old. I hope we will be hearing a lot of noise from them soon.
We are here in SE Arkansas, There just ain't enough folk willing to go the distance to get to us. Deuce don't have the time or $$$$ to be in the publics eye as much as he wants to be. But we will not let that keep us too far back. It will come togather one day.
Good luck to all you guys out there that are working for our bred. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING. We are headed in the right direction.

Darrin, I have not hunted with any from the steve-0 x chili cross but my good friend Kenny Jordan has one called war horse that is off of steve-0 and copper top jenny and he is a nice one. He is a big dog with a big mouth and he is a super good strike dog and a nice tree dog who likes to get by himself. He has done some winning in both UKC and PKC and I suspect we will see more out of horse...and Kenny in the future

Hands down the best Cross of the century GRNITECH MISS PIGGY X GRNITECH BREWINS TW TRIMMER. In 2010 Miss Piggy won the overall at national redbone days and in 2012 trimmer won overall at national redbone days. Ive heard tell that one of these six month old pups is already split treeing his own coon this is serious blood. Ive personally hunted over piggy and trimmer more times than u can count and im proud to say im half owner of one of these pups and you wait and see one of these pups will be the cover of the redbook in the near future.

Interesting to look back at this list of crosses. I think every cross but one that produced living pups has produced one or more titled competition winners...some were even record breakers!
Read through the thread and tell us how the other crosses produced...any big winners?
