Dorner. Crazy. Right?

This Dorner guy that shot up a co worker and some one connected to his Union. News is going off about just how crazy he is and what a crazy manifesto he wrote and what a cold blooded killer he is and on and on and on. THen they kept going some more and I thought, "this is starting to sound like propaganda". I mean, we all know it is wrong to try to settle any scores outside of the legal bounds of the law. Killing is always wrong, I mean, murdering is always wrong. Violence against law enforcement is always wrong.
But it sounds like he had some issues regarding police brutality that he tried deal with within the legal framework. And got no where. We all know cops have the possibility of being corrupt. We all know the Unions have the ability to be corrupt. What does a person who is involved in law enforcement do when he can't get law enforcement to operate with in legal limits? When his Union, which has a legal requirement to stand up for him, fails him?

I want to make clear, I ABSOLUTELY CONDEMN USE OF UNLAWFUL VIOLENCE TO REMEDY ISSUES BETWEEN CITIZENS, OR BETWEEN CITIZENS AND THIER GOVERNMENT. But we all know "the system is broke". And when the system is broke how does someone try to fix it if there is not a legal viable avenue to do so? I think we are seeing more crimes committed by folks who have a serious beef with "the system". The killing of the sniper last week sounds like one more similar instance. One military man disgruntled about how our system is working/ why we are at war/ who we are at war with/ etc, thinks the best solution is to just kill another soldier.

As a citizen who has been involved in Occupy and other peaceful protests I believe that we have a duty to do every thing possible IN A PEACEFUL, NON VIOLENT way to affect the change that we feel we need. I am afraid that one day someone such as this Dorner is going to get the backing of our public, become a popular martyr and things are gonna get out of control fast.....

And that my friends will be the end of our right to own guns. When any large uprising occurs that is heavily armed our government will have every excuse to take every gun away from every citizen.

Thoughts?

The only way the Govt. will ever disarm us will be if you Libs. support their efforts. It will be done in baby steps under the guise of doing it for our own good. You forget we are citizens, not subjects.

what a load of crap. whatever the answers are to yoru questions, murdering innocent people are not the answer. for you to even tie this situation to folks being fed up with a broken system is a joke. you can type in caps all you want to, but when "but" is the very first word you type after those capital letters, we know your true thoughts on the subject.

the porblem with this country is no self accountability, just like in this situation you are looking for reasons, ie excuses for it happening. this is no excuse for this type behavior. we need to stop the sissyfication of this country and the lack of accountabilty

Theres no accountability in this country from the top down.Politicians with no respect for who there representing until right before elections.People dont have respect for others anymore.I seen something the other day about a kid flipping off a judge in the courtroom and he fines her more with more jailtime because of it.He showed her accountability,if she learned anything from it was her decision.

what about legal obligation to uphold the constitution?

he' just another madman killing innocent people, because life ain't always fair, so he don't care who or what he does as long as he kills, gets revenge, and instills fear, similar like happened in CONN.
and fear destroys freedom, if not stopped.

1,790 posts and not an intelligent thought in the bunch, seems every once in a while you would get one right by accident unless you act the fool on purpose.

This is the challenge to those folks who think they are going to "water the tree of liberty" with their 2nd amendment rights. A plurality of the left and the right agree that "murdering innocent people" is wrong. Of course our corporate media gets to frame who is "innocent" and who is the "murderer of innocents" and who is "crazy". Any significant action that citizens would take to stand up to their own government will have to be peaceful/nonviolent.

Hard for me to draw a parallel between the "corporate media" and the media that is so enammered with the left, but reguardless the result is an unobjective press that seems to always report with an agenda. If the left and right can agree that the current administration sees an armed citizenry as a threat, then we should be able to agree that they are more concerned with us "watering the tree of liberty" by takeing up arms than they are with peaceful/nonviolent dissent.

Do you believe we would have the freedoms that we enjoy if they had a way to confiscate the 300,000,000 firearms that are in the hands of the american people?
History shows that the first step for any tyranical Govt. has always been to disarm the people, control the press, and create an atmosphere of dependence. Registration seems a logical next step.

Thoughts?

Has anyone read the manifesto posted online? Yes he is mentally ill, but I just had the gut feeling he was telling the truth in what he was saying.

Truly, you make some great points. I don't feel so crazy now that someone else has put my exact thoughts into words. He is wrong and he will be judged by God, but I would urge ya'll to read his manifesto. I absolutely do not condone his actions in any way. He is wrong and it would complete justice for him to be killed upon sight. The point I am trying to make is we shouldn't shrug off his accusations. They should be investigated to the fullest extent. You don't just do what he has done without a deep bitterness inside.

Truly I disagree with much of what you have to say usually, but you are a true professional and I respect that. I agree with you here.
