garmin guru's

Almost everyone who changed a collar or antenna on there unit knows the screws on the back plate likes to strip. So i went out to fastenal and ordered new ones without thinking there stainless steel. More expensive but more durable. I could have gotten regular cheaper ones but the head would have been a little bigger and I was worried about that back plating cracking when its cold out. I believe the head is .20" wide and the ones you can get at most hardware store are .23" or so. The ones I got are .187" so they should fit in there pretty good. The question is would stainless steel screw up anything in the collar? Although its on the back plate I dont want false readings or something that plays with any magnets that are in there. Has anyone used stainless steel or think that would be a problem? Thanks

thank you mr. eakins, i never even thought about if certain screws mess with the collar at all until a buddy of mine asked me if it would.
