For the next 3 moths just let him be a puppy and work on obedience sit, come etc... I like to play withthemwith anoldcoonhide and you can hide it and make a game of it! And if you can let hi. Run loose as much as possible to get acquainted with creeks, fences woods etc!I
My wife has abostonterrier that I let pups run with he will show them about fencing etc... But mainly give himalot of attention and build the bond where he trusts you! And then depending on how he matures etc,,, I will let acorn go for them just onetime where they can see it usually in the evenings and let the pup see thecoon. Run across the field and just before the coon hits the woods let the pup go and a lot of times they will tree it!! Then from there on out maybe just cut some coons loose and don't let the pups see the. But where you can cast them on a good track and let nature take it course!I don't ever pet them or encourage them on a tree pet them after your done and they are off the tree and then if you hunt them with another dog make sure it's a good one!but I like to start them alone and hot a bucket some and then just put time in them and if they are going to make it they will!!! Biggest suggestion which most fail at is have patience!!!! Patience. And more patience. Good luck
