Question

I am new to the sport of coonhunting so I figured I would get some answers from you all. We had a track last evening that would contiue to tap on the tree. Dofgs would tree for few then check there self and go on again. The track went around the ridge line for quit a distance. Earlier in the year with the same dogs treed several coons. Just wondering if this could be boar coon or something different. Thank you all for answers.

The coon rut should be started. Boar coon will actually go from den tree to den tree looking for females.

If the snow is deep some years, we can actually see what looks like a well warn coon run going from den tree to den tree.

If he finally got treed and stayed, I would say a bore coon like Larry said. But if he just kept going or quike it may have been a bobcat.

He finally did sit down and stay treed but alot of time had gone by. It was real foggy so hinnning to the top of the tree was not going to happen.
