Where'd all the coon go?

Anyone else having trouble? Lucky to tree 1 a night. Heard it's bad clear over in iowa too. I've talked to alot of people around here and nobody is having any luck. Some people are blaming the hurricane.?

Been treeing a lot of dens around here. Kind of early for dens I think. Usually up to thanksgiving I have pretty good luck but not this year

Last night first night I didn't tree any. 2 dens and dog went through 2 sections and didn't make a bark. I'm blaming it on Bush.

Me, too. Friday night was the first zero night. Did end of on a den tree and went home. Hoping it gets better after the moon changes.

I hit three tracks this weekend in eastern KY. Pushed each track hard and all three ended up in dens. I agree with those that are saying the rut is early this year.

My dogs can hunt close at times and to start a couple of those tracks they were standing up and smelling on most every den tree on the hillside like like a coon had been there.

VERY SOUTHERN MI.

I got a pretty good "coondog".and no coon seen,no good tracks 3 straight nights!!she went a total of 3 miles in 3 drops last night....not a bark!!!

1 drop in a place i had transplanted over 40 coon into a 40 acre section this spring/summer.with corn, beans and river going threw it...nothing!!!

are they moving late because of moon?
or cold front that came threw?

what has happened?

any 2nd shift coon hunters, how are you doing late?

NW Ohio

I have seen the same problem here in NW Ohio. First week of the season put down 20 coon and then someone turned off the water because I have gotten either no barks, or a few dens. Seems to early for them to lay up, normally doesn't happen until second week of december or so in my region of the country. And I pretty sure my hound didn't forget how to run coon overnight. Not sure what it could be.

Stange deal. The past 2 weeks have been awful here. Same story all over the country. I wonder whats causing it? The moon phase? Maybe its the drought? It sure makes a person wonder I sure hope it gets better.
