Mine acted up like that several years ago. I replaced the rubber o-ring and never had another problem. If I remember right, the o-ring is under the forearm. Good luck

i have a 12 ga auto that good for 3" shells. it works good on mag. shells but won't do regular shells. i went to the dealer and told me that no magnum gun will work with reg. shells.

Well, it sounds like you're already getting a lot of advice...but I'm gonna throw something different at you. Mine did this a couple years ago. Took it to my buddy who is a gunsmith. He said those 1100s are bad about wearing out the springs in the action. He replaced it and it's not messed up since. Course, if your gun is farily new, that's probably not the problem. Hope you get it working for you.

I second that. spring gets weak and lower power shells won'r kick out. the higher power ones overcome the weakness.

1100s are sweet guns but they are notorious for not ejecting shells. You can change o rings or springs frequently to fix. Or you can use high brass shells to get them to eject. Your choice.

One more thing you need to be aware of with the 1100 family besides the O ring. You need to take a small drill bit and clean the fouling out of the two gas ports in the barrel. That makes a big difference also and something you need to keep up on. Just work the drill bit by hand. If you have never cleaned those ports, you will work through a couple sizes of bits before you get them cleaned out. The gas can't cycle back through if those ports are clogged.

I own an 1100 20 ga. LT Magnum. If you look on the barrel it will tell you "Magnum shells only" I discovered the same thing years ago when my 20 ga. wouldn't eject high brass 20 ga. shells.

1100 magnum

It could be any one of those things mentioned.I've got one too and never had a problem with it on other shells as long as they were high brass.

My dad bought a one dollar raffle ticket where he worked and won a brand new 12 gauage 1100 and brought it home and handed it to me. My dad did not hunt. I was 18 years old. I am 61 now killed a squirrel with it two days ago and have never had a problem.
