Can anyone tell me if their female started acting stupid or not the same after having pups? Have a buddy that says his female hasnt been the same since her litter and says she might not ever be the same again. He thinks breeding her made her worse off than before she was bred.


Anyone ever experience this? I'm gonna breed my female but I wanna know if this happens alot or if its just one of those things that depends on the dog.

Yes it happen to my female she was a very very nice dog I bred her and she went crazy. Started acting stupid and not being herself

it just takes a while for there hormones to get balanced back out. may take up to a month after dry up before there back to normal.

I've got one that has never really been the same since she had her pups last winter. Been missing more than she ever did before, maybe age getting to her some but she is not the same.

I have one that was very accurate and did not take when I tried to breed her and she went to slick treeing and got really lazy but I have been treein coons with her but is she as classy as she used to be? NO ...

i had one that did that.she started becomming a me to dog.i started hunting her by herself and she went to treeing coons again.i reckon she figured out if she dont tree there aint nothing else will tree.after hunting like that for a while,i went back putting her with other dogs and she was as tough as she ever was.

ok thanks for the replys, i dont wanna ruin my dog but if breeding her ruins her then maybe she wasnt the coondog i thought she was. She doesnt have head problems ex. not timid, shy, aloof, shes smart and has a good personality. I think she should be fine after the hormones get out of her.
