Reminder, on January 1, 2013, the sole signatory policy will be mandatory!

Reminder, on January 1, 2013, the sole signatory policy will be mandatory, and a sole signatory will then be required for all litters and dogs registered to co-owners with United Kennel Club. The prior co-owner options of an "and" or an "or" partnership will no longer be available for new registrations or transfers at that time. Dogs that are co-owned and registered under the original co-ownership policy before January 1, 2013 will not be required to change to the new system but may chose to do so. Please see our Press Release from 10/24/2011 for more information.

Don't like the rule at all.I have all my dogs co registered with my son, that way if anything ever happened to me he would have no problems with the papers on my dogs.

UKC is a service to us coon hound owners and I think we should be able to register our dogs however we choose Just My Opinion

We are always trying to make our customers happy and by allowing up to four owners on a dog instead of two, we are giving dog owners more options. The dogs you currently have co-owned with your son will stay the same. This will only effect future dogs that you register. You can be listed as the Sole Signatory and your son can be listed as the first successor. The Sole Signatory form states, "In the event of the death of, incapacitation of, or other circumstances, the first successor will become the official signatory." So, if something were to happen to you, your son would be in charge of signing all paperwork on the dog. Hope that answers your questions. Here is the link to Sole Signatory Form if you would like to look it over.
