they found my honey hole

they found my honey hole.
i have been protecting an island for the last 12 years.some sorry sap sucker found out there was coons on it.
i have put corn out year after year.i have only killed 4 small coons a year on it and protected my big sows.some of them sow coons go 22lbs.thats good for tennessee.
i steped out of the boat last night and there was a big dead sow coon on the river bank way above the water level.as i was walking i found 2 more dead coons.
so i decided to thin them down.i went back to the boat and got the rifle.them fellows will be hard pressed to tree a coon in there again.im gonna hit that spot 1 more time to make sure there aint a coon left on it.then im gonna have to restock it the spring of 2014.if they dont tree coons on it this year they will quit hunting it and i will have my spot back in 2014.
the sorry ass coonhunters around here think they have to kill every coon they tree.they need to kill them sorry ass walker dogs and buy a real dog.

Thats why I hate kill season. I don't see anyone all yr and then season comes in. I have to drive around half the nite to find a woods no one is in the first few weeks. Then the hide hunters drive around the block the whole time your in the woods trying to figure out who you are. I don't sell coon I call a friend and let him have them. So the hide hunters have no ideal who I am, don't no my truck. Then on weekends when I can hunt late I see them in woods I know they don't have permission to be in. When they see trucks at woods they help themsevles to hunting them too. Now we have a new hide dealer that has told land owners that I have coonhunting permission from that I am killing deer at nite not coonhunting. I HATE KILL SEASON!

Are you 100% sure you was the first one to hunt that spot that seems unlikely. I love how coonhunters claim land that don't belong to them as theirs because they hunt on it now.only the landowner should have anything to say about who hunts on their properties .we have one at our club that has only been hunting about 15 years its hard for him to process the fact that I have been hunting in the spots he calls his with good permission from the landowners long before he thought about coonhunting.run people off the land you own if you like but leave folks alone that's only doing the same thing you are.I intend to stop and ask permission to hunt any good looking spot I see and when the landowners say its ok I'm going to hunt just like I've done for the past 30 years and if another coonhunter wants to pay me not to hunt that particular spot then I might not hunt in there but otherwise I'm going to hunt where I have permission and enjoy hunting it because I'm not worried where or what anybody else does or goes.

the land is state property.i never said i owned it.im the one that puts out money buying corn and i am the one that put the coons in there.
i had just talked to a fellow thats retired from the fish and game about transplanting some bigger coons to breed to these ridge runners.
the first one to hunt it back in the day was probably Ronnie Nickens.he used to hunt where my house is.
i will hunt any where i want to as well.but im not coming to your spot and killin every coon i see.

I understand what your saying I've got 15 buckets out in different spots around my house but all I can do is ask the other fellows that want to hunt there to help me keep more coons dropped in there and put some dogfood in my buckets if you can. There are plenty up here for all of us though I don't worry about em getting thinned out and the way the coon population has been growing I don't think I ever will.

im hoping to transplant some arkansas coons in a couple spots.
im gonna tag them or split their ear.if i get the word out and some one kills them.i would like to know what area they ended up in.
im still in the planning stage.the fellows i talked to said it would help the health and the size of our coons.

It makes sense to bring in fresh genetics to make em stronger. But I have learned through trial and error not to release big boar coons in my spots they will run coons off quicker than anything.
