Red Coon

How many of you have treed red coons or blonde coons with red rings on its tail?

There called a cinnemon. Worth a nice chunk of change. Sold mine to a taxidermist.

Had some Red Coon Across the Road from My Dad's for years. Haven't seen one in years. We caught a Kitten on the ground once and I thought the dogs had caught a Red Fox.

One Year at Autumn Oaks my dog split on a coon and the other dogs on the cast had a Red Coon Treed... The guys on the cast thought their dogs had treed a cat! I told them that it was a red coon... they didn't believe me until we squalled and it looked at us and you could see the mask around it's eyes!

They are pretty neat!

I have one mounted and hanging on the mantel, caught him in 1988, he is butterscotch colored and the coolest coon I ever treed! Everyone who comes to the house always comments on the color! taxidermist told me when he mounted it that they are more rare than an albino, and it takes an albino in the gene poole somewhere to create one!

I killed 2 cinamon coon, 1 in '95 and another in'96, I didn't keep either 1,I always said if I ever tree an albino I would have it mounted, I have 2 true albinos hanging on the wall in my family room.
I killed a all black coon, no rings just all black in '85,sold it with some other coon, I would like to tree another all black 1 and have it mounted, put it by the albinos........

Nobody would believe me if I told you the number of albinos and blondes and cinnamon's I've treed. 2 albinos, 1 cinnamon and 1 blonde did come off the same property over a 3 year period though. 3 seasons ago treed a 18 pound albino with pink eye sockets and pink feet. It was snow white with pearl colored nails. Some say I'm just lucky but all of them but 1 came with the same dog.

My cinnamon coon.

When I was 16 myself and a buddy went hunting on my dads farm. I must say that I always had wanted to tree a cinnamon or albino coon and it finally came to pass that night during kill season! Well I was carrying my 22 marlin single shot and my buddy was supposed to be carrying the bullets well I found the first coon in the tree and it was about a 16-18 lbs sow low down in tree regular gray and black I shot her with the bullet that was loaded in the gun. Well after I shot the first one I noticed the cinnamon coon sitting high up in the red oak. I was so excited but when I asked my buddy for the shells low and behold he had a hole in his pocket and not a single shell left. We were about 2 miles from my house but I wanted that coon so bad I left him and my dog at tree hiked back home and turned the house upside down looking for shells couldn't find a single shell anywhere! I didn't have a drivers license yet so I couldn't just go buy some. Well I hunted that coon all season and for 3-4 years after that and I treed prolly every coon in those hollers except my cinnamon coon. Still kinda resent my buddy for that but that's just how the cookie crumbles for me.
