This hunt is a get-to-gether type hunt that is traditionally held the weekend following Thanksgiving. The hunt is not limited to those that hunt Mad Dog bred Blueticks, it's open to all Blueticks. This is a place to show hunters from other parts of the country what you have. This gives a person the chance to go hunting with dogs that they have only read about. Two years ago there were 63 dogs that went to the woods and last year it was close to that number again. Last year we had dogs from 7 states participate and numerous hunters that stopped by just to BS. Several hunters show up on Friday night but the majority of the hunters come on Sat and hunt Sat Night. We have a cookout Sat afternoon with plenty to eat. If you like "Hot" chile I usually have a pot brewing. There are reasonable Motels close or camping can be provided..........Tim

My young Bingo dog got chewed up a little by a coyote at hte tree Monday night. He's healing quick and will be hunted at the Bunkhouse hunt this year! He is a 18 month that is Jimmy/Bullet bred. He's out of my Bozo dog. Looking forward to coming back down home for the holidays and hunting with some great blue dogs!
