Young guns in march

Who would be interested in doing the young guns in Travelers Rest Sc in March it would be the same 100 dollar entry you MUST be preregistered this year. I'm just seeing what kind of interest we would have.

Varies from what guide you draw. Mtns, river bottoms, hardwood hollars, good creeks. How many coons you see depend on were you go to.

Few changes tho. Forest we bumped the entry to $150. Pkc rules. 16 dogs in super pup. 16 dogs in young gun. 8 casts. 2 1hr late rd casts to decide places. $1000,$500,$250,$150

Thats the idea anyway

Be just like the one that was held in tenn. Few changes.
Super pup-dog who hasnt turned 2 by date of the event
Young gun-dog who hasnt turned 4 by date of event.

We wanting to make this a yearly hunt. Show off them young hounds.an another event for us all to get together.
Made most of the changes due to what yal wanted. Like pkc rules. The final 4 in both classes. We will start taking deposits on holding your spot after the grand american. Cause were looking at march 9th sat. To hold hunt.trying to make sure it want conflict with another hunt

Coon club is 3 hrs from knoxville tenn,2 1/2 hrs from atlanta, 2 hrs from charollete n.c, an 1 1/2 from columbia s.c. just a good central location to fill 32 spots i think.

On a sat I'll come but i think third and forth should pay a little more than the entry. There's extra 500 somewhere that could be Paid out.

I mean the Pro hunts are 250 but pay back entry even for all that don't make final 4. 4th gets 400 3rd 6-800 ect.

16x150= 2400

1st-1000
2nd- 500
3rd-400
4th-300
= 2200

Leaves 50 bucks each for 4 guides ect.

Don't like the idea of driving 3-5 hours to break even just on the hunt. You still lose with the 300-400 driving that far.
I mean I can pay an extra hundred and possibly win 4000 at a pro hunt... Need to think about payouts to get people there... Esp black dog owners/hunter.

I had planned on hunting Smokey 7 in it this year, but now since it has been moved to march, he will already be 4. Probably won't have a young one ready by then, but who knows.

I really like the format, but like Gene said... 3rd and 4th should pay a little more. Love the hunt-off!

Ya chris. Fine with me.

We gona move numbers around get 3 an 4th alittle more. Weve changed the format to make it fairer since it is a money hunt.an just concentrate on 32 dogs this time an maybe get alittle bigger each year! An its just another way to hunt with diffrent powerhouses you read about on here. But its still alot of work an preparation to put on a hunt.an is a hunt sponserd by the south eastern black tan assn.

I'll agree it is a good hunt to have every year but I didn't know I heard from someone that the hunt would not be moved because where it was held at was a good location. The PKC rules are fine to but 150 dollar entry fee why not make it 200? I thought the 100 was enough. Hahaha

Wormy,
Thanks for taking on this project. It's a good idea and I will take an entry in both groups.
As with anything new or different some folks will have negative comments. Don't let that bother you.
Set a date that is good with your club and guides. That is the most important part. Set an entry fee that will allow it to be worth hunters while to travel and participate.
If you need anything feel free to call!!
Thanks again for your willingness to help promote the breed.
