Wow!! Permission to hunt

Me and a buddy stopped an asked an ol' boy that bought a place my friend used to hunt an man he didnt like it. He said coonhunters are not welcome any were around here and that they kill coondogs! I said well why did yall kill em were they messin with yer animals or what? He said nope i dont want em round here an we'll shoot em on sight!! Seems like its gettin hard to find huntin spots these days an more an more people have that kinda mindset about us huntin. Dont get me wrong lota people round here dont mind us huntin i was just wonderin if anybody ever ran into this sort of thing.

These real true blue sportsmen here in Texas will shoot anything. Every strange dog that walks into their yard, can have on a dozen collars, every dog they see in the woods, cept theirs, even if it is a litty bitty lap dog, every house cat their dog tree and I live out in the country on a county road and walk it regularly and don't see very many beer cans in the ditch till hunting season opens. Lordy, Lordy, is this real sportsmanship. Think about it the next time you sitting on your deer stand and see a dog wandering through the woods. That dog belongs to somebody. You don't need the target practice, or is the killer instint all you interested in.

One night about 30 years ago, I lost my female. The next day me and a friend were driving around looking for her and stopped at a house to ask if anyone had seen her. The guy comes out and he starts saying how he shoots any dogs that come on his place. I could see my friend's blood pressure start to rise but I just kept on talking to the landowner. I ask him about a real pretty horse he had out in the pasture field and he said that was his pride and joy. I said well my female is my pride and joy and I'd hate to see something happen to her. He had me leave my phone number and said he would call me if he saw my female and he did. Ended up hunting around his place for several years after that.

I had a neighbor shoot one of my dogs and she lost a leg. He always kept at least a dozen cows in his field. Eye for an eye tooth for a tooth.

Yep run into that sort of thing all the time. I just don't ask anymore. I only hunt here on the ranch. Thank goodness I still have a place. If some one shoots my dog I'd say they better hide it good cause the war is on!!! I'd hate to think about what I'm liable to do. Not very Christian I'll say that.

FYI if your dog is ever shot and was not harassing livestock that is a crime in any state. Good friend of mine up in Indiana had one of his shot and killed Sued the guy and won just over $9000 for it. Talk to your local game warden.

My family has quite a bit of land here were i live an ive lived here my entire life, an people sellin out around an people buyin up the land that arent familiar with coonhuntin all they hear is "what you wana go on my land well we'll shoot you!" Its crazy i dont understand their mindset.

Tell us where the stupid bastard lives so none of us will have to deal with him. I had this happen one time, the ol boy told me that if he had known that we were down there last night he would have came down there with his 30-30. I told him, on his door step, that I would have shuved that gun up his ass! Wasn't on him!!!!!!
