Anybody heard of this ENGLISH dog????
I'm looking to find someone who has hunted with, or may have pictures of, a dog named Brewers Red River Spot.
So if there are any of you fellow Old Timers that have hunted with, or maybe even have a picture of this hound I would be very appreciative of hearing or seeing anything about this hound.
The reason I am interested is that Spot was (in some ways) one of the foundation hounds of my breeding program. Brewers Red River Spot was the sire of Bates Screaming Deamon, additionally (if I'm not mistaken) he was also the sire of (Hall of Fame) Parkers Rambling Sue.
I have been line breeding off this hound since the mid to late seventies. Ed Bates told me one time that spot was one of the most overpowering tree dogs of that era, and Now I'm curious to find out more about him. What I have been able to maintain and love so much is a BIG overpowering locate that flips into an every breath chop after one or two locates.
I have been fortunate over the years to maintain that trait on many of my male dogs. So if anybody knows anything about this hound, I sure would appreciate any/all first had information that anybody out there has. Thanks for your time and effort. Again pictures would be worth a thousand words (so to speak)
