Its with a very heavy sad heart I must say Blue was hit in the road tonight while hunting. Kid never slowed down and wasnt going to stop until I ran out of the woods approx 500 yds above there and stopped him. Wouldnt acknowledge even hardly what he had done nor get out of his car so I could throw him a beating just sped off. Blue was still alive when I got to him and was breathing heavily but raised his head. Ran home for money (was only hunting across road) wrapped him up and took off to the emergency clinic several miles away. He continually raised his head while my daughter held him in the back seat and consoled him in his final minutes. He began to try to get to me as if to say goodbye nudging my arm when we were almost to the clinic and died in my daughters arms within 200 yds of emergency clinic. A short story in this dog. I bought this hound off of SheriffAndy on the board he was a younger littermate brother to Hobos Pride hound. When i seen him on the board I instantly fell in love with his looks and wanted him. I spoke with SheriffAndy but we never really worked out a deal. I had told him at the time if he could get him a ride to Va I would purchase him sight unseen and on his word. Well weeks went by and things happened and finances were truly tight. And then SheriffAndy called and offered to bring him up for me. Being a man of my word I told him to bring him on even though my money for him had been spent. He was all I was told and possibly more. The more I hunted him the more i liked him and seen some great potential. He was my friend my buddy and a CONNDOG. Had his first girlfriend in Va lined up for a date in January and was going to start hitting the hunts and shows with him this Friday. Had scrounged around bought me a Garmin and tracker rebuilt me a box and had an enjoyable young hound. All to be ended by a irresponsible driver with no concern to an animals well fare. Rest in peace my friend your time was short but was truly loved and enjoyed from the feral cat you treed to the last coon track you ran! I will miss you Blue!!!!

had this happen too, last jan to a young male. made me sick.
first chance i got i bred his older sister and they started treeing on turnouts and drags a 4mths, almost cloned him.

gonna be a bright season. hope you find another good one. again soory for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. One of our most promising, blast to hunt, full of character dogs got killed on the road while i was hunting him at the zones two years ago. It is an awful feeling knowing you will never hunt with them again, like they're stolen away from you. I know from experience there is nothing anyone can say to make you feel better, but you'll still have his memory. I think of my Mister dog every day when i walk to the kennel or turn a dog loose, and watch videos of him every so often. Once again i am real sorry to for your loss!!

so sorry Jennings. Thats a tuff one for sure. I just had to have Andy put down a month or so ago and this is the first i have spoke of it. wish you could have gotten 10 years of companionship from Blue. He wasn't perfect but he could guarantee a fun night of hunting. I had a blast with him. he was easy to start. had the drive. had the heart.he won't be soon forgotten. I thank Mr HOBO for my chance to own this hound. I still have his half sister, but due to my recent accident can't hunt her. I also have year old pup out of Blue and her.
