Tagg - the Pet Tracker

Has anyone ever tried Tagg, wonder what the limitations are other than cell phone service. Was just thinking that I carry this android smartphone with all kinds of capabilities figured there must be a way to track my hounds and I found this. Tag sent me the following info
Dear Tom,

Thank you for your interest in Tagg - the Pet Tracker! We do have customers who use the Tagg system on their hunting dogs, and it performs well with the added assistance of smartphone (Android and iPhone) applications to use in-field.

The Tagg tracker requires a cellular connection to the Verizon network in order to provide locations, but then can be used anywhere in the United States to track your dogs. If you know the specific area you will be in, you can check our coverage map on www.tagg.com/support (red areas are in coverage).

You would need to purchase a First Pet Master Kit (which comes with a tracker and docking station to charge it), and then each additional pet can use an Add-a-Pet tracker with the same docking station. The Master Kit is $99.95 and the Add-a-Pet is $89.95. The real difference is in the monthly subscription cost - $7.95 for the Master Kit and only $0.95 for each Add-a-Pet per month.

Trackers purchased from the website also have a 30 day money-back guarantee if you would like to try the system for your needs.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to give us a call at 1-855-PET-TAGG (1-855-738-8244) 10AM - 7PM EST, 7 days a week, or visit the above-linked Support page.

Thank you for choosing Tagg—The Pet Tracker™

I bought one and it came off the dogs collar the first night in the woods. We know close where it is but haven't found it yet. The update rate is too slow and it won't leave a trail like Garmin will.

Thanks for the input! The Garmin does work well for me, just curious.
