I don't just possum hunt but I kill probably 100 a year. I shoot anything my dogs tree.

P.S. I often have to hunt by myself, lolol.

Possums are so slow and dimwitted ,I think they're being thinned way down by the coyotes invading the eastern states .

I use to know two old black guys that had some crossed up idk what hounds that hunted for possums they ended up dien when I was in my early teen but they sure knew how to cook that possum haven't tryed cooken possum or coons want to though we used to bring possums that we cought in are coon traps when they got to old to hunt to them they would cook them like pot roas.In a cast iron pot with all sort of stuff but you couldn't tell the difference between possum an stake when they got done.

.

my grand father would eat anything they killed. they would bring opossums in and put them in a pin then feed them corn for 2 or 3 weeks then kill and eat them. as for me i just cant bring my self to eat a giant rat lol i have herd him talk about his father and grand father eating skunks. they would put them in a burlap sack and bury them for a day or 2 so the smell would leave. they even tried a fox said it burned there mouth like pepper.

We love treeing possums down here... Most hunters scold their hounds for treeing them because this competition junk. That junk would have never flew with the old timers that hunted for food. I'd rather tree a possum any day and I've had some dern good coon dogs.
