Saginaw MI

The Army has decided that Saginaw should be my new home. Can anyone tell me what the hunting is like up there and any rural places that I should look to live that would be dog friendly. Its just me and the dogs.

I used to live 40 miles south of there. Hunting is great. Cheasaning coon club is close by and all the guys are great around there. You won't be far from Marion Springs. Its alot of state land there and the huntin is good, but can be tough at times. Still I would take down here if I could. Good luck to ya.

I've hunted a lot about 45 miles west of Saginaw. Some of the best coon hunting in the world in my mind. Mostly patch woods around crop fields but there are some big blocks of state land. If it wasn't for the brutal winters I'd probably live up there.

Saginaw MI

How MANY dogs do you have ?

Saginaw Animal Control has gotten picky over kennel permits & dog ordinance enforcement.

If you have acreage, you may still be able to apply for a kennel permit.

If you don't have acreage, there is a DOG LIMIT LAW in effect. I believe it only allows up to either 4 or 5 dogs per homesite (I don't remember which is the correct number, but there was an article in the paper about it).

You will also be not far from the Water Wonderland Coon Hunters Association in Millington, MI. That club holds numerous events throughout the year, as does the Chesaning club.

The club in Maple Rapids also holds several events each year, and you would not be too far from that location, either.
