Roger - I am trying to locate someone who may have had semen from a treeing walker stored at a vet clinic in grand rapids, Michigan. I recently adopted a mix puppy that was a result of that semen being used on the wrong girl, and I was just hoping to find out some health info on the sire. Had I found a list of breeders, I would just start calling/emailing til I found the right one. I guess I figure anyone who went to the trouble of collecting their dog might also breed and have health info? Thanks.

Do you know the Sire's name? Seems weird that someone would use collected semen to mix breed a dog intentionally, unless it was coondog to coondog.. Anyhow, the sire's name may tip someone off to the owner.

Pachina,

There are more treeing walker breeders than what you want to call. Treeing Walkers are not a rare breed.

Typically, treeing walkers do not have many health issues. Treeing Walkers are a working breed. I don't expect that someone had semen collected from a male that would have any health issues.

I don't know the sire's name and this was not intentional. The clinic made a mistake by using straws from thebtreeing walker's collection when it shouldve been another breed used altogether. I don't even know if they have alerted the owner of the semen, although I think he/she has a right to know. Perhaps someone may know of people in west mIchigan with treeing walker coonhounds? I would think the semen would be stored nearby to where the person lives, and I would like to ask about my puppy's history.

Ben Crocker's dog was stolen some time ago. Now there is a mystery sire from "stored semen" ? Fishy as all git out! If I may suggest, I would consider posting the complete story as told to you including names, vet, semen location, etc. Might be able to help Ben out if there is anything for him to go on.

To my understanding, an Irish Wolfhound breeder went to a clinic in Grand Rapids that specializes in reproduction (and stores semen) to have her girl surgically impregnated. The clinic (I don't know the name) injected the treeing walker semen instead of her IW semen. She has since settled with the clinic; however, I don't know if the clinic told the treeing walker owner. I imagine they would like to avoid him or her, as it would mean another settlement. I was hoping to find him or her just to learn about the father to my baby. She's adorable, has the coat texture of the walker as well as ears, but is keeping up with IWs in size. I would guess anyone that takes the time and money to collect and store semen would also show, participate in hunt trials, something - which is why I posted here. Thanks for your help!

He might be out of The Crowe or Coma or JR. Go figure. Or Ukc can and did help me but I doubt it is worth a nickel on an admitted crossed up dog. And it ain't.
