I'm guessing they were dead casts.

And I'll guess that even though all the dogs there are capable of treeing a coon alone, that in Louisiana that late at night, there will be several that don't get the job done in round 2.

This time of year the leaves are still well on and some of the places you'll get treed there is so much undergrowth, so many vines in the tree with leaves and tree leaves thats almost impossible to find one.
