Astro Backlight wont come on

the backlight on my garmin astro will not come on, I have the settings set on backlight stays on, battery saver is off.
what is going on? I put new batteries in as well. when I power the astro on the name garmin is bright then it goes off, what am I missing?

try tapping on switch a second time a slide for brightness should come use up arrow to turn up if that don't work go to menu advanced then to settings then display hit enter go to auto good luck i'll check back

When I hit menuit just stays on the same page no matter how many times I hit it, when I hit menu it goes to the page that has the menu page. what am I missing?

i have same problem on my 220 at one time i could tap on screen and light would come on but now it stays off all the time ? i figured it is some kind of short or something

Turn it on and then push the on/off button once.

There is a backlight indication bar at the top middle of the screen. See what position it is in and you slide it by pushing the on/off button quickly. It has three positions. Off-middle-high.

Check that out and we can move to something else if that doesn't work.

Yes the right and left toggle button moves it in smaller increments than the off button. Glad you got it working.
