Garmin alpha compass locking up?

Can any one tell me why my compass locks up on my garmin alpha ? The only way I can get it working again is to calibrate it. Any help would be great! Thanks

Mine does that too. At least once a night.

I am thinking it may have something to do with my LED head because almost every time I notice it happening is after I have had my light turned up to full bright but could just be a coincidence.

Compass does seem to be more accurate than the Astro when it is working though.

Thanks I will watch that and see if it makes a difference I am going to call garmin this week and see if they can help I really like the alpha over the 220 I always run a schocker on my dogs it's nice having less stuff to deal with. A lot of guys say why do I want a shocker all the time I use the tone for recall and they are just dogs. We have a road every mile I would rather shock one than dig a hole for one!
