Too Dry for the Dogs?

I live in northern ohio. Is it too dry right now for the dogs to run good track.

Went threw that last summer and doing it again this summer. Corn is yellow, grass is yellow, rest of the fields is dry and bare. I fought it last year and done more harm than good to my dogs. It took half the winter to get them past there problems. Mine are staying in the yard till it rains this year. Then they will go back in the yard after it drys up again. My truck hasn't even been started in several weaks.
The last time I was out my pup treed its first coon. It hasn't been back to the woods since. I hate it but siting in the yard is better than makeing loss's and they can't find what they can't smell and it isn't there fault.

I'm surprised you haven't got any rain lately being close to eastern KY. It has rained everyday her for 2 weeks seems like. Not just showers either, lot of localized flooding today from the rains. My yard is turning into a swamp.

Our forcast was nice. Said we are between two highs. It will cause above 100 temps, no clouds, and will make the inferno type winds quit. My least favorite of all weather is heat and wind. I get rid of one of them(the wind). Last summer was an all time record breaker for us. We have broken some of the daily records we set last summer but not close to the 60 somthing days in a row above 100 degrees.

Just depends were you are. Eastern Okla. has the hills and tree and hummid as heck. Out there in the south west it is pretty dry and not much but farm land or rock hills. Here were I am it is pretty much like Lawton. I use to live there back when I was young and roughnecking for a liveing. I am like you. It was a lot easier then. Now I just look out the window at it. Dry

Must not be as dry here as other areas because it is not to dry to tree coons here just got in made 3 drops treed 3 times and seen 5 coon.

Last 2 hunts I was in in the past 7 days, scored 1425+ no minus and no circle with a dog not even 2 years old.

and we are only 11 inches below normal 104 degrees yesterday, driest summer in 106 years

HUUM wonder what the difference is????
