First let me say thanks to the members of this club and ALL of the satalite clubs involved, I may be wrong but I believe yawl have hosted the longest continuing running MAJOR eventheld in one location in UKC history. At one time there was the big 4 consisting of, not in order, The American Heritage, which was held in Tx but moved to different locations , the Winter Clasic, held in Ga for 25 years in same town, Autumn Oaks held in, Indiana but also meved several times, and the World which moves every year. What a acomplishment not to mention last year Acording to UKC stats you had 219 dogs in the show and placed 689 dogs in the woods in 2 nights for a total of 908 dogs in a two day event and I might say that total was somewhat the same for about 20 of the 25 years. I for one want to say to MY club "JOB WELL DONE "
MISSISSIPPI I for one wish the host club the best BUT
..... A Classic Coon Hunt In THe Old South has come to a end......

AGREED CONGRATS TO THE GA COONHUNTERS AND ALBANY....BUT MISSISSIPI IS STILL CONSIDERED THE SOUTH AND CONGRATS TO THEM AS WELL AS THE NEW HOST OF THIS HUNT....

I noticed several of the top stories where on the criminal activities in that area...could that have had something to do with the move to MS.???

Do a search on this forum for STOLEN several post come up if you look back to Feb of this year on dogs/Equipment from vendors/ect that was stolen At the Winter Classic earlier this year...Brought a couple back to the top. This may of had some effect on the decision to move...who knows???

PLEASE keep this post on the topic at hand. What a GREAT job the "Deep South Coon Hunters" did, These acomplishments that I listed has not nor will ever be acoplished again. My dad use to say ain't got no stickability. Man that statement is sure true here.
In closing there is on thing to remember memory is a great thing.

Once we reach that senior status you never know if you'll even be here next Jan. so we'll play along and see what happens. For us the game is short and we've lived it and played it and enjoyed it. For others don't get caught up in the move and let it eat you up, if you do you're the biggest loser and there's no prize for that.

JOB WELL DONE FOR 25 YR'S !!! I MET SOME FANTASTIC MEN & WOMEN AT THE CLASSIC . VERY NICE & FRIENDLY PEOPLE IN THE DEEP SOUTH . I WILL ALWAYS GO BACK TO ALBANY JUST TO HUNT WITH THE LAWENCE FAMILY . OR SHOULD I SAY A LITTLE SOUTH OF ALBANY . THE LAWENCE FAMILY HAS TREATED ME LIKE FAMILY & I WILL ALWAYS TREAT THEM LIKE FAMILY .
